How to donate  - monthly by pre-approved payments or a one-time donation:



Only Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada, using their personal account are able to donate to federal parties.

By mail:

Or, set up a monthly donation directly to the riding association account at VantageOne Credit Union in Vernon.

100% of your donation will be used in this riding.

Any and all amounts are gratefully accepted, and you will receive a tax receipt at the end of each year.

Secure credit card or Interac donations to your local electoral district association. A 5% admin fee will be held back by the federal party.

More info on political tax credits:

  • The maximum allowable donation that an individual can make to all local candidates, nomination contestants and riding associations and election campaigns combined is $1,500 per year.
  • The maximum allowable donation that an individual can make to the central office of Canada’s NDP is $1,500 per year.
  • A candidate, nomination contestant or a party leadership contestant can make an additional $1,500 per year donation to his or her own campaign.
  • The maximum cash contribution an individual can make is $20.
  • A candidate or riding association cannot accept donations from corporationsunions or organizations. Use a personal cheque or credit card only.

Please note that:

  • The source of all financial contributions over $20 must be identified. Ridings must be sure to note the donor’s name, full address and amount donated.
  • Anonymous contributions of $20 and under can be received without recording any donor information. However, a record must be kept of when such a collection took place (date and time), how many people were in attendance, the nature of the event and the total amount of anonymous funds raised at that time.
  • All other donations must be tracked and receipted. Total annual donations of $200 or more must be publicly reported to Elections Canada.
  • Bequests and legacy gifts in an individual’s last will and testament are not subject to this limit. Such legacy contributions cannot, according to electoral law, contain designations or conditions.
  • Your donation to the federal party does not update your membership in the BC NDP unless you designate it with either a note, or on the online form.
